Parental burntout & the Mental Load with South Asian Care
Parental Burnout & the Mental Load (Hosted by South Asian Care)
In partnership with South Asian Care, Neha Darji, MS, LPC, ACS led a workshop unpacking the emotional, cultural, and generational pressures that contribute to parental burnout in South Asian families. The session explored the unseen mental load many parents carry, why guilt and overwhelm show up so often, and how cultural expectations shape communication, co-parenting, and boundaries.
Neha offered practical tools for reducing stress, breaking harmful patterns, and regulating the nervous system during high-pressure moments. Parents left with concrete strategies to feel more grounded, supported, and understood in their caregiving journey.

Setting Healthy Boundaries for South/East Asian Women
Feb 19th, 2023 7-8:15pm EST | Zoom
Provider ceu workshop: Understanding the impact of acculturation on self care in the asian culture
Feb 15th & 16th 9:30am-12:30pm EST | Zoom
The focus of this 2 day workshop will be to provide psychoeducation on acculturation and collectivism and its impact on self-care. Gender roles delineate family responsibilities and traditionally there is very little importance placed on self-care and mental health needs. In fact, engaging in activities and behaviors that promote self-care may be viewed as disrespectful, selfish, or even in extreme cases a loss of cultural values. It is important to recognize that although there are many overlapping macro societal similarities the Asian diaspora is not homogeneous. The goal is to create a culturally safe environment for clients and create strategies that align with mental health while honoring nation of origin identities. Teaching methods include lecture, interactive exercises, and group participation/discussion. Both days (2/15 & 2/16, 9:30 am-12:30 pm) of training must be completed, partial or one day attendance will not be honored.
