Hello! I am a therapist at We Rise Therapy and Wellness. I received my undergraduate degree from Seton Hall University and my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The College of New Jersey. I am currently a doctoral candidate in the PhD in Counseling program at Montclair State University. My experiences in counseling, research, and counselor education have shaped my interest in how our identities, relationships, and the worlds we grow up in influence who we become.
I’m especially interested in the ways culture and family shape our understanding of ourselves. Sometimes, figuring out who you are means navigating different expectations, making sense of family dynamics, or deciding which parts of what you’ve been taught still feel true to you. You might feel connected to certain traditions while questioning others, or find yourself somewhere between different worlds without feeling entirely at home in either. I believe there is room to explore all of that without having to explain away your experiences or have everything figured out. I hope to help you make sense of your own story and find a way forward that feels like yours.
Self Care Rituals
- Watching movies (and probably thinking about them long after the credits roll)
- Dancing and making time for movement
- Spending time with friends and family
- Baking (there’s something so soothing about following a recipe but something exciting about experimenting with it!)
My style
I take a collaborative, culturally responsive approach to therapy, with a focus on understanding the bigger picture of your experiences rather than looking at challenges in isolation. I’m curious about the relationships, expectations, and experiences that have shaped you, and I want to understand what matters to you, not just what brought you to therapy. I draw from person-centered and family-systems perspectives to explore patterns, build self-understanding, and make space for change. Therapy doesn’t have to be about fixing yourself or becoming a completely different person. Sometimes, it’s about understanding yourself a little better, giving yourself permission to question things, and figuring out what you want to carry forward.
