“It's okay to fall apart from time to time. Tacos fall apart and we love them."

Hi! My name is Tabeer Qazi and i’m a therapist at We Rise Therapy and Wellness.  I received my Masters Degree in Social Work from New York University. My past experience includes providing individual, family and couple therapy.  Additionally, i am trained in Gottman’s Level 1 and 2, an effective and well recognized therapy for couples

know you’re more than your story, your pain, joy, social identity & experiences. As a South Asian immigrant,, I proactively advocate for my clients both inside and outside the therapy room. I will show up for you if you need help involving other family or partner participants in therapy sessions.  I use evidence-based practice in addition to building a genuine connection with my clients. I help them find their intrinsic strengths and their innate ability to explore who they are and what changes they want for themselves. I also encourage my clients to see how their problems are connected to the greater context of social milieu. I use a trauma-informed approach lens to identify my client’s big T/ small t traumas; I help them explore and process how that trauma manifests in their emotions, behaviors and thoughts. There will never be a ‘right’ time. One doesn’t have to begin psychotherapy only after some life-jarring event has happened. It can be initiated during the most mundane and regular phase of life where one might feel ‘stuck’. Let’s start the journey of empowerment, self-acceptance, healing, effective communication and better quality of life together.

My style

I meet my clients where they are at by listening and attuning to what they say in their gestures, their quirks, and their silence. They hold the ultimate power to move forward, while I equip and help empower them with the necessary tools. I come into the sessions with the belief that my client and I will both learn something new. Clients are not just the painters of their canvases, they need environmental reinforcements to bring about their paintings to life. Therapy can help people reach their rawness in the most beautiful way.

I proactively advocate for my clients both inside and outside the therapy room. I will show up for you if you need help involving other family or partner participants in therapy sessions. I believe in decolonizing therapy practices to make them more accessible for people of color.
